Forms of Appeal - Rhetorical Techniques
Stine Due Jensen
How can forms of appeal reinforce a message? The book takes this question as a starting point, and through texts and videos, the reader is introduced to rhetorical concepts which will enable them to answer this question.
The purpose of the book is to make the reader aware of rhetorical tools and to critically assess your own and other’s communication. The tasks give the opportunity to use words in creative contexts.
The book also contains a number of tasks where models and concepts are used in practice, both to analyse the communication of others and to analyse your own communication. Tasks include: speeches, advertisements, campaigns, and websites using various apps.
The book can be used from age 12 through adult education in English classes with a focus on linguistic communication.
