Borrowed Feathers

Beskrivelse

Borrowed feathers refers to borrowing something from elsewhere. When two genres are mixed, this results in a new genre. If we take, for example, the form of a recipe and mix it with the contents of a love poem, we have a new genre - a hybrid.
This book is designed in such a way that it can be used at several educational levels in English classes in upper secondary or high school, as well as further education colleges and adult education centres, or in interdisciplinary courses and projects related to English.
By working through the book, readers will obtain an understanding of the concept of genre and what it means when you mix different genres - from fables, poetry and montages to recipes and information leaflets.
The tasks in the book set the stage for readers to produce their own knowledge by experimenting with different genre forms and thereby creating new genres. In one of the tasks, the reader has to cross a painting by Salvador Dali with numbers and graphs. In another, one of Aesop's fables has to be made into a comic strip using the Strip Design app. Finally, the results of this experimentation with different genres are gathered in the reader's own picture collage in Explain Everything.
